The first IT based system used in Romania on national scale for centralizing the 8th grade final results and distributing the graduates in high-schools and vocational schools. http://admitere.edu.ro/
The ADLIC software application, developed by SIVECO Romania, has been used since 2001 to centralize national tests results, validate the applicants' personal data and perform the automate repartition in high schools and vocational schools, as well as publish them in all schools, high schools and on the web (http://admitere.edu.ro).
ADLIC received the "Best Practice" distinction from the European Comission, during the conference "From policy to practice", organized in Brussels (November 2001). |
The computerized admission and distribution of candidates into high schools and vocational schools from the entire country was finalized a day early and without any incidents by the MEdC and SIVECO team. The 148,905 candidates were distributed in less than two minutes, although the project coordinated by the Romanian MEdC had a life span of over 9 months to develop.
The number of the candidates that were not distributed because they did not fill in enough options in the ADLIC registration forms was at its lowest in the program's history: 271 candidates (0.18% of the candidates). By comparison, the number was 3,895 (2% of the candidates) in 2004.
Almost 60% of the candidates were declared "admitted" into the high school or vocational school that was their first choice. The percentage of candidates admitted into a school that was in their top three options was of 80%.
The ADLIC application "Orientation to Admission", developed by SIVECO Romania, assisted the candidates during the process of filling in the registration forms: http://admitere.edu.ro.
Over 90.000 of the candidates participated in the second stage of the computerized distribution. 84,676 of them were declared admitted into a school of their choice. 5,852 candidates (under 7%) were not distributed into any school since they did not fill in enough school options in the registration forms.
ADLIC is the first IT system used in Romania on a national level to centralize the results of the national standardized tests and to distribute candidates into high schools and vocational schools of their choice.
Since 2001, the system has been used to centalize and validate data for the computerized admission of candidates into high schools and vocational schools, according to the specifications of the Ministry of Education and Research.
In 2004, the application ensured the centralization of the results of the standardized national tests and the distribution into high schools/vocational schools of 289,722 middle school graduates from the entire country. The process took place securely and transparently.
