Bucharest, November 21st 2005 - In the World Summit for Information Society, recently organized in Tunisia, Romania was awarded, through SIVECO Romania, the World Summit Award in the eLearning section, as recognition of the creativity and quality of the educational content developed for the IT Based Educational System, a nation wide program for over 700.000 pupils and teachers.
The Grand Jury’s choice (35 experts) was motivated as following:
"Advanced e-Learning Objects is an excellent example for a new approach to e-Learning. The digital material can be used in various learning environments, and it covers a huge range of subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, History, Biology, Computer Science, Geography and Technology. The product gives the teacher great flexibility and is an excellent tool that promotes a student-centred approach. It has a very nice and clear design that significantly contributes to the understanding of the content. Rich in multimedia features, the product is a best practice example for new trends in e-Learning."
At the Gala ceremony held in Tunis, Romanian Minister of Communication and Information Technology, His Excellency Zsolt Nagy stated: “The award SIVECO Romania received today is, beyond worldwide recognition of the quality of its eLearning products is a proof of professionalism of the Romanian IT specialists. It is a great success for the entire Romanian software industry”.
